when i played persona 5 royal for the first time i felt that it was a great palette cleanser after the dogshit of totk, and now i gotta say elden ring fits a similar bill, and also does certain things better anyways

#elden ring has underground segments but theyre limited and are really kickass #salty talks #this is nothint. im seeing bits and pieces of that mew artbook thing and like.#yeah no botw/totk in an alternate timeline.#they really couldve done a soft reboot thing and been like. hey this is the start of a whole new continuity #that way you dont need to trample over already established lore stuff and whatever #this game has aged like milk outside on a hot day every time something new abt this game is released it just gets worse #anyways a crux is that elden ring feels like it was made by people who had a lot of passion for it and respect the players #also theres a double jumping horse and they handle repeated mini dungeons with much more variety in an arguable more limit gameplay system #persona 5 was a plot palette cleanser and elden ring is a gameplay palette cleanser #also just the sheer level of detail that you may never see that serves to link world details together or provides story suggestions #player model npcs having fully modeled n unique faces is the tip of the iceberg. oooh you wanna check out zullie the witch’s channel so bad #idk elden ring just feels like a much more fulfilling n worthwhile open world game experience. it uses its world sooo much better than totk #not so much botw that one still holds up as its own individual experience- not perfect but does what it set out to do decently #would still love if you could pause elden ring tho. like at the bare minimum please
